Words and Phrases

Disarmed: To let one's guard down, to feel at ease, not being on high alert.

Mr. Brûlé said that good parties are an environment where people feel disarmed or in other words, relaxed, at ease. They don't have to hold back.

Go out of business: Closing a business for good or forever, losing a business.

Take over: To take control of something, to gain control, possession or responsibility of something.

Within no time: A very short period of time, almost instant, quickly. It gives the impression that it's surprising how quickly something happens. For example, I bought a guitar and started practicing. I was playing full songs within no time.

Prompt: To cause, to bring about. To encourage someone or something toward an action. An example would be, "What prompted you to start?" or "What motivated you to start?" This is not to be confused with the adjective "prompt," which means "quick or speedy."
